Axonify Folders: A helpful change to keep things organized

Hey, Axonify Learning customers! Here’s an update just for you!

On April 30, 2025, we’re making two small changes to Discover to make it more intuitive that it’s the go-to place for organizing and accessing articles.

Here’s what’s changing:

  • Communities will be renamed to Folders
  • Folders will have a new default icon

And of course, relevant menus will be updated to reflect the new naming of Folders.

Here’s what these changes will look like:

(Don’t worry! If your Communities currently have custom icons, you won’t lose these when they change to Folders on April 30, 2025! Only your Communities that use the default Community icon will change to the new default Folder icon.)

No action is required from you, and Discover will function the same.

We'll continue to send out reminders of these upcoming changes closer to April 30, 2025, and also share handy resources in the coming weeks should you wish to pass along this update to your teams.

If you have questions, feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager at any time, or, you can post a comment here if you’d like!

>>>HOT TIP: Folders also play a crucial role in supporting the new Channels feature—coming April 30, 2025—as part of Axonify Communications. Channels foster meaningful group engagement and discussions, strengthening connections across your frontline and giving you even deeper insights to drive business goals. If you’re ready to explore how Channels—as part of Axonify Communications—can benefit your team, connect with your Customer Success Manager!

Until next time!

  • If current Communities have a custom image for the icon, will those remain?

  • Hi Sydney Lorenz

    Great question!

YES! Your custom icon image will remain unchanged. Only the Communities that are using the default Community icon will get swapped over to the new default Folder icon on April 30, 2025.

    Thanks for the question!

  • Does this change provide us the opportunity to create subfolders?

  • Hi Patric Meyer
    Also a great question!
Currently, subfolders aren't supported, but we're always evaluating Discover to determine the best path forward.
I'll be sure to pass this feedback along to our Product Team!

  • Thank you.

We are desperately waiting for sub folder functionality.

We cannot migrate our knowledgebase for our front line from Sharepoint until we have ability to create sub folders.
