Spotlight on the new Assigned Path Progress Export (V2)

The “Assigned Path Progress Export (V2) - User” scheduled data export is a powerful tool to track the ongoing progress your users are achieving in Assigned Path programs. The new (V2) version of the export introduces several key updates and improved versatility in comparison to the legacy version, “Assigned Path Progress Export - User”. At this time, both exports are available to use. However, the (V2) User Export will replace the legacy version in Q2 2025.

But first, what is an Assigned Path program, and what value does it offer? 

The Assigned Path program is best suited for use when you want to deliver a linear path of Content, which is ideal for onboarding new associates in a timely manner. Assigned Path Programs are different from an Assigned Path within a Reinforcement Program because Introductory topics in an Assigned Path program do not move into Reinforcement training sessions once the user completes the Path.

So, what is different with the (V2) export, and how can this benefit me?

In the legacy export, updated results were logged only until the point at which a user achieved 100% path completion. For example, if additional items were added or released in the path following the user’s initial completion, the legacy export does not update for that user beyond their initial completion. An example flow of this is:

• Path is released with 10 items
• User completes all 10 items in the path, reaching 100% path completion status.
• 5 more items are added to the path at a later date.
• User is still considered 100% path complete based on 10/10 items.

As an analogy, this experience is like completing a class, where the following year the professor adds an additional book to the syllabus. Since we graduated the class already based on what was released when we were enrolled our status is unchanged.

Now, the (V2) User Export will update the user progress (and other related columns) when:

• New items are released in the path
• A certification/evaluation in the path recurs
• A certification/evaluation is reassigned

The (V2) User Export will update the following data points to reflect the latest completion when new items are added to the path following a user's initial completion, or the user's path progress is updated when the path reopens to push items set with a future start date.

• Number of Items Assigned
• Number of Items completed
• Number of Items Not Started
• Percentage of Not Started Items
• Percentage of Path Completed
• Up Next External ID
• Up Next Item Name
• Up Next Item Type
• User Progress Status

Additionally, a new filter option is available to choose whether the filter criteria is based on Current or Point in Time attributes. For example:

• Current: Filters and exports use employee attribute data at the exact time of export's Run time. For example, filtering by Team 1 exports data for users who are currently on Team 1.
• Point-in-Time: Filters and exports use employee attribute data recorded when the data point was originally captured. For example, filtering by Team 1 exports data for users who were on Team 1 when the data was captured. If a user was on Team 2 at the time they interacted with the path, then moved to Team 1 at a later time, they will not be included in the results.

Lastly, the (V2) export also features several new data points, including:

• Unassigned Date: The date the user was unassigned the Program
• Latest Program Completion Date: The latest date which the user completed the program.
• Last Updated Date: The date of the last update that affected the user's status in the program
• Manager Assigned: True or False
• If Manager Assigned: the assigning Manager's Employee ID
• User is Suspended: True or False
• User Status: Active or Inactive
• Program Last Login Date: The logic behind this data point now tracks the most recent time the user views the path in the home page carousel or the training page, regardless of whether the user has previously completed the path.
