Wrap up of the newest 2025 Task Management features
Hello Axonify Community!
Chelsea, here, to give a quick wrap up of some of the great features that have been added to the Axonify Operations’ Task Management solution since the beginning of this year! Our teams have been relentlessly hard at work to ensure that operational excellence is always at your fingertips.
This group of releases really keeps you and your teams agile with helpful insights and the ability to take action quickly, while still achieving operational alignment across your entire organization at scale.
We’ve got something for everyone in your organization with this batch of releases!
For you: Tasks can be added to Initiatives
For you—our valued administrators and power users—is the ability to connect individual tasks to Initiatives.
Initiatives are a great way to evaluate how day-to-day operations are contributing to broader strategic goals within your organization; maybe it’s a safety Initiative, a seasonal promotion Initiative, a product promotion Initiative… you get the idea.

When you’re creating tasks from the Tasks area of the platform, you can also choose to create an Initiative or add the new task to an existing one.
Image 2: Drop-down menu when creating a new task that shows your available Initiatives and the ability to filter or create new ones.
Then, once the task is assigned and completed, you can watch the insights flow in to show how the task is performing within the realm of that Initiative. This can help you make data-driven decisions in refining your strategies and programs.

And for those of you who also use Axonify Communications, you’ll already be familiar with the idea of Initiatives! So now, both your communication and task management efforts can drive towards the same Initiative!
For your frontline workers: Mobile push notifications for instant alerting
For your hard-working frontline workforce is the option to now receive push notifications to their mobile devices.
When you’re creating a task, you can decide if you want the task to appear listed in a daily Task Summary, or in an Urgent Task notification.
Image 4: Three options of how mobile push notifications can be leveraged when creating a task as an admin.
So, say that romaine lettuce needs to come off the shelf because you just found out from your supplier that it’s contaminated with E.coli 0157:H7. Axonify’s Urgent Task notification gives you peace of mind because you can quickly create a task to send immediately to your employees on the floor to remove the item from the shelves. This task will appear on the lock screen of their device so they won’t miss it.
Image 5: Daily Task Summary and Urgent Task mobile push notifications appear on mobile lock screens.
If push notifications aren’t enabled, your employees will still be able to see that vital announcement on their homepage with that eye-catching red dot on the Tasks menu, and the urgent notification standing out on the homepage.
Image 6: Even if push notifications aren't enabled, the daily Task Summary and Urgent Tasks are still visible on the team member's homepage when they log in.
And, since not all tasks in a day are related to urgent things, you can include the task you’re creating in a daily Task Summary that sends everyday to remind your frontline of what’s expected from them for the upcoming shift.

For your managers: Managers can now create their own tasks
And, last but definitely not least—and the most anticipated part of this announcement—is for your managers. Managers can now create their own operational tasks from LearnerZone.

We know all of you and your fellow admins are pretty darn good at task management. But sometimes, you have to admit, there are tasks that make more sense to be created by your location, district or regional managers.
Here are some examples that we’ve heard where it would be nice if managers could be given the autonomy to go ahead and create the task themselves:
- A manager will be absent and requires coverage (like upcoming time off but a manager’s duties don’t get to take a holiday! Big shoes to fill but someone needs to step in to monitor on-the-ground operations)
- Unexpected situations at a specific store occur that require immediate action (like a snow storm is forecasted to hit a certain location and outdoor displays need to be dismantled)
- A piece of equipment or technology malfunctions and needs attention (like a forklift or a certain POS device)
- Certain locations have highly specific needs compared to other locations across the organization (like unique physical store layouts or complex team dynamics)
- A unique event that only applies to a specific location (like a VIP guest will be arriving)
- Certain locations have varying demands based on shifts, timing, staffing, etc. (like a store within a mall might have different hours, opening tasks and closing tasks compared to a standalone location)
These and so many more scenarios show that a manager is best suited to be the one to actually create these tasks because of their direct operational insights and real-time context. This unburdens administrators like you and prevents bottlenecks, which can be huge blockers to operational efficiency.
Here’s the help center article on manager-created tasks!
And, here’s a quick reference guide that you can share with your managers so that they can get up and running quickly with creating their own tasks!
We’ll also share a resource soon that you can send to your managers to get them up and running with creating their own tasks!
What specific situations do you envision leveraging manager-created tasks? How will this benefit your operations? Please leave a comment! We’d love to hear from you!
You and your managers are then able to view the status of manager-created tasks in LeaderZone reporting to monitor the status of the tasks they created, adding to the ownership and accountability that managers thrive on.

Here’s a video that walks you through what this process looks like for your managers!
But don’t fret! Admin-created tasks—which are the operational tasks you’re used to—aren’t any less valuable and haven’t gone anywhere. Administrators—because you have that broader, more strategic perspective and context—are still the best folks to create tasks that demand consistency across the wider organization. You’ll still view this reporting from AdminZone.
Thank you for reading, and we hope you enjoy these new features!
